Decoding Valentine's Day

If there is anything in this universe that cannot be defined, it is love. If you can describe love, then it is far from the truth. You give flowers, you hug, you prostrate, you offer but still something remains unexpressed.

Once Lord Rama asked monkey God Hanuman: 'Tell me how much you love me?’ Hanuman said, “My Lord, I cannot express my love for you, you want to see? I will tear open my heart and show you”.

Even if for your whole life you try to express how deep your love is, you cannot express it fully. You can only find a little expression, just a glimpse of it.

There are three types of love: Satvik, Rajsik and Tamsik . 'Satvik' love is that which does not expect anything in return. 'Rajsik' love is the love combined with feverishness and a desire to get something back. 'Tamsik' love is just to destroy things. But Divine love is free from all these three.

Worldly love can be like an ocean, yet even an ocean has a bottom. Divine love is like the sky which is limitless, infinite. From the bottom of the ocean, soar into the vast sky. When you love somebody, what do you love in them? Do you love their qualities, attributes or the person?

Often love diminishes. A child loves its mother and as the child gets older, the love for the mother recedes as the focus is now on friends, then spouse and then children. Divine love, however, grows every moment…

You can never be bored being with a wise person, a saint. Every day you spend, you feel the depth is getting even more. Every moment you spend with a saint you feel the relationship is growing deeper and deeper. This kind of love never breaks down; it never diminishes. Divine love is so refined and so subtle, it cannot be expressed; it can only be experienced.

Mysteries cannot be understood; they cannot be explained, but can be lived. ‘Sukshmataram Anubhavarupam’, it's a form of experience. You can live it, you can be it, you can shed tears of gratitude, but you cannot express it. You cannot fully share it with anyone.

This love is so unconditional; it does not depend on the behaviour of the other person. It does not depend on the attributes of the other person. Does not depend upon what they do to you and what they don't do to you. You are in love because you can't be but in love. You have no choice as it is your very nature. Like the sun has no other choice than just shine. The sun is anyway shining beyond the clouds. Nothing can stop the sun from shining. Even when an eclipse happens, those shadows are so far away from the sun. It does not touch the sun. Similarly, all the seeming disturbances in love, in your life, do not take away your nature, which is pure love, unconditional love.

The ability to receive genuine love comes with the ability to give love. That’s why often you do not know how to respond when someone shows a lot of love. The more you are centred and know by experience that you are love, the more you feel at home with any amount of love expressed in any manner. Deep inside, you know that love is not an emotion; it is your very existence.

I have extended my early and forever beliefs of love into way of living my life. I feel satisfied very deeply. Because, I know it will makes things immortal for me.

- Special message of valentine’s day, the day people celebrate as a day of Love. Though I am not sure about people's understanding of it.

Mystery...

Mystery...The world itself is very fascinating, the world without a limit, without a boundary. Applicable to anything or everything. Probably this world drove the humankind to do the seemingly impossible things in very short span of development history.

It is the world which drives me crazy, responsible for many sleepless night, responsible for me to observe every other thing happening around me, especially with the people. May be my brain is one of the most useless brain hence always tries to look for something which you cannot see. In my engineering terms 'something qualitative and not quantitative'. Something we cannot measure hence very difficult to prove its significance or existence.

My relationship with mystery started with thinking about myself. What I do and Why I do so? What I think and Why I think so? I have no rule book to follow (and I guess neither anyone has) so the only thing I can do is to form correlation with my actions and my philosophy. There are so many thing you tell yourself about yourself.

This year probably I will get more time to spend with myself and I have decided to go deeper into my thoughts. To explore myself again. Let me know if you find some clue..
